Our Donors

Many of the groundbreaking medical discoveries and life-saving treatments at the OSU Medical Center would not be possible without the generous support of our friends and community.  These donors have given us their time, financial support and their enthusiasm to help us fund new research, expand services and facilities and to seek out new ways to improve the lives of people in our communities.  Whether they give $1 million or $100, our donors positively impact the lives of countless people here in central Ohio and beyond.

To honor our donors and highlight their generous spirit, we will be featuring their personal stories throughout "The Power to Change Lives" campaign.  Please check back here often to read new stories of dedication and generosity.

Jeri Block & Bobby Schottenstein

"We both love Ohio State," said Robert H. "Bobby" Schottenstein, who, along with his wife, Jeri Block, and nine others, is co-chairing "The Power to Change Lives" campaign.

"We believe very strongly in The Ohio State University Medical Center and feel that it is a privilege to be involved in such a significant initiative to improve and strengthen the quality of this premier public institution."

"We feel very honored to be part of the campaign," Block agrees. "There is so much interest and love for Ohio State in this community. We're very blessed to have access to such great health care-the wonderful clinicians, researchers and educators at OSU Medical Center are extraordinary."

Block has enjoyed a long association with Ohio State, having co-chaired the Herbert J. Block Memorial Tournament, which honors her father. Since the inception of the golf tournament 24 years ago, more than $2.7 million has been raised for patient education and research projects at Ohio State's Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. In 2006, the Block family was elected to The James Leadership society in recognition of their exemplary volunteer leadership, which has generated a positive impact on the creation and continued advancement of the OSU cancer program. Block also serves on the James Foundation Board.

Schottenstein is chairman of the board, CEO and president of M/I Homes, Inc., the largest single-family homebuilder in Columbus, Ohio, and one of the largest homebuilders in the United States. In 2005, he was appointed to the OSU Board of Trustees. "I believe this campaign comes at a very exciting time for Ohio State. With emphasis on research, education and patient care, the campaign will propel the Medical Center to the next level and provide strong momentum toward the university's overall goals."
